Awareness Program on Sexual Exploitation – Kurunegala

PEaCE project officers along with the robust support of the volunteers of NYSC set out to Kurunegala on a sunny Saturday morning to conduct a public awareness program in the form of a street drama. Several public areas were selected namely the bus station, district hospital and Welagedara ground. Through the street drama we portray the perils of sexual exploitation of children online. The program was made a success with the persistent assistance of the Superintendent of Police as well as the Children and Women Bureau of Kurunegala. The outreach amounted up to almost 6000 individuals. Special thanks go out to the street drama team and NYSC members for aiding in the distribution of leaflets.
